Coach Val Bio & Shout Out!

What's up Tectonic Familia,

We've had the pleasure of Coach Valentina London assisting and leading classes as part of her development program under Head Coach Amy.

Coach Val has grown tremendously in her class management, individual athlete oversight, confidence on the floor, and knowledge of programming across warm ups, strength, and conditioning. Her desire to provide informed and effective coaching has shined through in her questions, analysis, and delivery. 

She's rounding out her repertoire by teaching Foundations and studying for her L1 course in October. You will see her independently leading the main strength and conditioning classes in the near future. 

From Coach Val:

I started CrossFit in 2016, influenced by my parents, who’ve both been working out consistently over the last 8 years.

I joined Tectonic in May of 2019, after moving back to the PNW permanently and looking for community and a gym that had high quality coaching and programming, as well as intentional efforts to foster a caring and compassionate gym atmosphere. Tectonic checked all the boxes, and I’ve been training as an athlete ever since.

I’ve recently begun preparing for my CF L1 certificate course in October, and learning the ins and outs of coaching, and how that translates to Tectonic and its athletes. I’ve taught kids and young adults in a number of informal educational settings in the past, so coaching athletes is something I am really looking forward to, especially at Tectonic.

My day job is working at the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife regional office in Ridgefield, responding to wildlife reports, and fishing/hunting inquiries in the area. During my off time, I bartend at 54-40 Brewing on the weekends in Washougal, and of course, still train at Tectonic as an athlete.
